Maria joined Calm Futures following our expansion into Hertfordshire in mid-2025. Having worked in the care sector for over 25 years’ Maria’s experience broad ranging experience covers mental health support, ex-offender rehabilitation, adults with substance misuse concerns, learning disabilities, complex needs, and physical disabilities.
Maria started out in the sector as a Support Worker, and over time progressed to the position of Registered Manager and later Operational Area Director. In 2016 she transitioned into the role of Quality Assurance Manager but loves both worlds equally, the field of care itself and playing an active role in people progressing – colleagues and those we support alike.
Maria lives by two mottos:
- Everything is figure-out able
- Inclusion is not a passive act
In her spare time, Maria can be found trekking in the beautiful countryside, dancing with no shame, reading novels or indeed, watching a Ted Talk – a slight obsession of hers!
